Using this site means you accept these terms
These terms cover your use of the K&L Laredo Concrete Construction website and the concrete work we quote and do for you. If you use the site, call us or ask for an estimate, you're agreeing to them, so please read them before you do.
When we sign a written estimate or contract with you for a specific job, that document controls wherever it says something different from this page. You can read more about who we are on our about page, or head back to the home page anytime.
What we do
We're a concrete contractor in Laredo, TX, and we build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls, decorative and stamped concrete, and related work. The pages on this site describe that work in general terms so you know what a job usually involves.
Nothing on this site is a quote or a promise about your particular job. Your property, your soil and what we find once the old concrete is out all change the work, so the details for your job are set in your written estimate.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation, because we need to see the site, the slope and the ground before we can price a slab honestly. An estimate is based on what we can see that day and on material prices at the time, and it's good for the period written on it.
Some things only show up once the job is open, like soft or wet ground under the old slab, buried debris, roots or old concrete thicker than expected. If we run into something like that, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain the cost before we do extra work, and nothing extra gets billed until you've agreed to it in writing.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll give you a start date when you approve the estimate, but concrete depends on the weather. If rain, extreme heat or wet ground would hurt the pour, we'll move the date rather than pour a slab that won't hold up, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, set forms or started work, you're responsible for the costs we've already paid out and the work we've already done, as your contract describes.
Payment terms
Your written estimate or contract sets how much is due and when, including any deposit and the final payment. Payment is due on the dates written there, and any approved changes to the job are added to your balance.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is current. Texas law gives contractors certain rights to secure payment for work done on a property, and we may use them if a balance goes unpaid.
Caring for new concrete
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains its strength, before you walk or drive on it. We'll tell you how long to stay off it for your job, and damage from using it too soon, or from loads heavier than it was built for, isn't something we can cover.
Concrete shrinks as it dries, so small hairline cracks are normal, even on a slab that's built right. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the concrete a planned place to crack, so cracking stays along those lines, but no contractor can honestly promise concrete will never crack.
Warranties and what they don't cover
Any warranty on our work is the one written in your contract, and it covers only what it says. It doesn't cover normal hairline cracks, ground movement or settling caused by things outside our work, water from drainage we didn't build, deicers or chemicals, tree roots, misuse, or repairs and changes made by someone else.
This website and everything on it are provided as is. We work to keep the information accurate and current, but we don't promise it's complete or free of errors, and you shouldn't rely on it in place of an in-person estimate.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, K&L Laredo Concrete Construction isn't responsible for indirect or consequential losses tied to your use of this site or to our work, such as lost use of your property or lost income. Our total responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We're licensed and insured, and nothing on this page limits any right you have under Texas law that can't be given up by agreement.
If something goes wrong
Call us first at (956) 508-9209 or reach us through our contact page, because most problems get fixed fastest when we come out and look at them together. Tell us what you're seeing and send photos if you can.
If we can't work it out between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. If it still isn't settled, the dispute will be heard in a court in Texas.
Which law applies
These terms, your use of this site and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies when you use the site. A change won't alter a contract you've already signed with us unless we both agree to it in writing.
If you have a question about anything here, contact us and we'll explain it in plain words.
